It never ends. While you are going inside, blast that area with water. The water will get inside the wall and greatly slow expansion. You didn't so this is what you got for doing nothing. Then comes the ignorance of Vertical Venting. If those windows had been broken out from the beginnj9ing, you would have had access to the interior burning material. All you guys did is make the fire burn better. You have no idea how easy this would have been had you vented all the top floor windows while making a push up the stairs with a cone of water pushing the heat and smoke out those windows. And stay off the damn roof!

I could see that was going to happen. They're all jammed up on the stairs and you could see it starting to get ready to flash and none of them moved back down the stairs even when the guy started screaming. He saved himself by jumping into the next room, then jumping out the window. I don't know what it is. People seem to freeze and are unable to react when faced with horror. I don't have that condition but it seems most people do. When a car pulls in front of me I instantly react. Most just plow right into it like they can't see it or something. It's how I have survived driving in the Twin Cities, (road bully capital of the world) for lyft for 5 years and I'm still alive to tell about it.

The USELESSNESS of the USA fire disservice never ceases to amaze me. That fire is generating a MASSIVE amount of energy. His water application is not penetrating it to the burning material, the energy is blowing the water away. Of course, he is helping that to happen by aiming at the flames instead of the BM. They have absolutely No Clue on what to do. You roll up and Deck Gun this within 40 seconds of arrival followed by a second gun or a 2-1/2" line. You can have hydrant water flowing long before the tank runs dry, or you simply turn the gun off.

Only took 3+ minutes to figure out water puts out fire. Was anyone operating inside?? I take that as a no. Put a small portable on the roof to get better access to dormer.

Wondering why no water asap.

New sub here. Amazing video coverage. I've watched a thousand of these videos, but never ever saw a whole side of a house collapse. It's like the house was ripped in half. Why weren't the boom super soakers used earlier? To have 2 just parked out front, not being used, makes no sense to me. I hope no firefighters were injured. Stay safe 🙏

Does one of the departments all have white helmets? Majority of departments, White helmets denote Chief. If this is the case here, several were operating hand lines instead of running the scene as some Black helmets were just standing there.

Why bring a quint if you aren't going to use the main ladder earlier on?

That helps explain why the fire was so nasty from the get go. Older building with aged wood. So it went up like Kindling from the start.

Glad that no one was home at the time and that there were no injuries to anyone related to this incident, that house was really cooking. Not surprised with the colasp of the building. Thank you to all firefighters everywhere for protecting the citizens of your coverage area.

There was a report of weak water supply and water main break on Walnut St. Not sure if this is true, but what I read. Sad to see, but great coverage as always Bill. Stay cool and hydrated this week!!!

These so called fire fighters ant worth 2 cent in my opinion.

First

Lack of training for firefighters is going to get them killed. Common sense should dictate that you shouldn’t enter a fire situation without water. We could debate whether 45mm hose or a hose reel is the right option but if you choose to take 45mm hose in with you, ensure it’s flaked outside the entry point, charged and checked prior to entry. Stay safe guys. Be real heroes and go home to your families after your shift.
